For existing customers, N26 Instant Savings account interest rates are based on your main plan with N26: from 11/06/2025 onwards, 0.25% p.a. for Standard and Smart, 0.55% p.a. for N26 Go, and 1.50% p.a. for Metal (before taxes). Please note that rates per plan can be changed by N26 over time.
Interest is only earned on funds held in your Instant Savings account.

That means your money is fully protected — both in your bank account and Instant Savings account — up to €100,000 by the German Deposit Protection Scheme. We currently operate in 24 markets worldwide.

Moreover, with 3D Secure, Mastercard Identity Check, and fingerprint and face recognition, the security of N26 customers’ online payments is always guaranteed.
For a limited time, new N26 customers who open an N26 Metal account and create an Instant Savings account from January 13, 2025 to February 13, 2025 will receive an interest rate matching the European Central Bank (ECB) deposit facility rate. During the promotional period, which lasts for six months from the account opening date, customers can deposit a maximum of €100,000 to their Instant Savings account. Once the promotion ends, there’s no longer a maximum balance, and they’ll continue to earn the N26 Metal interest on their entire balance.
This rate determines the interest that banks earn on their deposits with the ECB. This rate is set by the European Central Bank, is reviewed, and may be adjusted during monetary policy meetings, held every six weeks. During a six-month period, N26 will transfer the full rate to eligible new N26 Metal customers under this promotional offer.
The interest you earn is automatically calculated daily and paid out directly to your Instant Savings account on the first day of the following month. You’ll see separate transactions: the deposit of the gross interest into your account, and the deduction of the taxes that are withheld from the interest you earned.
To open an N26 Metal account, you must meet the eligibility criteria. You can then register on our website, or in the N26 mobile app. Signing up only takes a few minutes, and no paperwork is needed.
