Think your bank should stay out your life until you need it? Day-dreaming David is your spirit animal

Is your head always in the clouds? Then you probably have a similar approach to banking to Day-dreaming David.

2 min read

If someone asks you what you think of your bank, you’d probably sigh. It’s hardly a riveting conversation and it’s something you don’t want to think about—and when you do, you’re usually frustrated by how set-in-stone and confusing the entire system is.

Ultimately, you wish your bank could just be a little more flexible and work around your life, rather than expecting you to adapt to their rigid approach—one that’s filled with bureaucracy, paperwork and strict rules about how to do things. After all, you’re busy and when you need your bank to do something, you really need them to do it now.

If you’ve been nodding along with all of this, you’re probably a little like David—day-dreaming, bargain-hunting David.

David’s proud to be a dreamer. Most likely to be found at the trendiest vintage clothing stores or hunkered down at a coffee spot noting his latest ideas down on napkins, David is driven by passion. And these change regularly. Whether it’s saving the rainforest or launching a series of free yoga tutorials, money helps David further his cause. He’s focused, for the most part, but sometimes the day-dreaming catches up with him.

David’s friends know that he’s most likely to get locked out of the apartment without a key, or lose a bank card—never to be seen again.

David doesn’t know as much about his financial situation as he’d like to. He feels nervous and worried when he needs to talk to his bank and, along with 12 percent of people worldwide, prefers to seek advice from friends. And when he does interact with his bank, he wants flexibility and support.

David’s financial factoids

  • Mindset: feel good, do good
  • Motivation: following this week’s new passion
  • Superpower: bargain-hunter
  • Kryptonite: unnecessary rules and inflexibility from his bank
