Security at N26
N26 operates with full European banking license, and the security of your bank account is always top priority. Alongside a series of intelligent features that keep your funds secure, your money is also protected up to €100,000 by the German Deposit Protection Scheme.
Security procedures to keep you safe
Your N26 bank account comes with three-tier security measures that protect all your transactions, as well as additional in-app features for extra peace of mind.
Pair your account to one smartphone at a time, and ensure that only you have access to your money.
Log in in seconds with a secure password or via fingerprint identification and face recognition, and enjoy managing your bank account on-the-go.
Alongside choosing a secure confirmation PIN to confirm all outgoing transfers after pairing your account, you can also change your card PIN easily in the app, whenever you want.
Benefit from extra protection against fraud, thanks to advanced 3D Secure (3DS) technology that offers an additional authentication step when making online purchases.
With push-notifications in real-time after all account activity, always stay up-to-date with where all your incoming and outgoing payments are going, and when. There’s no need to wait days for transactions to appear in your account, or until the end of a billing period to access an overview of all your funds.
Customizable security settings
Control your card’s setting wherever you are, right from the N26 app. Adjust your cash withdrawals and spending limits, and set restrictions on transactions made online or abroad. Reset your PIN, lock your card to prevent any unauthorized access if you misplace it, and even unlock it again if it turns up.
Stay alert online
Your account already comes with advanced security features to keep your money safe, but it’s always important to remain vigilant and take further measures to protect yourself. Never write down your passwords or PIN, only log into your N26 account on a computer you trust, and avoid using a public WiFi connection. Additionally, make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date on your computer, and that you’re always using an updated version of the N26 app.Download the guide
