Contactless payment limit increased to €50

The NFC technology on your Mastercard allows you to make contactless payments simply by bringing your card close to a payment terminal, with no need to touch a keypad to enter your card's PIN code. The upper limit for this type of payment used to be €25, but now we've doubled it—you can now make contactless payments for amounts up to €50.

Pay with your smartphone before you receive your card

To avoid any postal service issues in your area, you can now use your new N26 card before it’s even arrived. Whether you have just opened your N26 account or have ordered a new card for whatever reason, you can add the digital version of your card to your mobile wallet—this way, you can start paying with your smartphone immediately.

Streamlined verification system

When it comes to verifying your identity to open a new N26 account in Spain, you don't need to do your hair or to change out of your pyjamas, let alone leave the house. The only things you need are a smartphone with a good internet connection and proof of your identity at hand.
