Not only will you beat the crowds who usually flock to other parts of the Andalusian coast, you’ll also enjoy the lack of the usual sunbeds and parasols—this is an undeveloped beach, which means it’s full of nature, and not much else.Jump right into the crystal-clear waters to snorkel among corals, sea sponges, and a great variety of fish, like the Mediterranean rainbow wrasse, or the ocean sunfish. If you get the chance to take a boat further out to sea, you might even get lucky and come across special neighbors, such as dolphins crossing the Mediterranean sea, or peregrine falcons flying high above you in the sky.

Located at the southern end of Fuerteventura island, this wild and untouched beach is a part of Jandia Natural Park. With 12km of uninterrupted breathtaking views and surrounded by mountains as high as 800 meters above sea level, it’s hard not to feel serene at Playa de Cofete. But the tranquillity of this picturesque landscape comes at a small price—it’s off the beaten track, and access is only via a dirt road. It’ll take you about 50 minutes to make the 25km drive from Morro Jable to the coast of Cofete. Our recommendation? Get an off-road car, and enjoy the gradual change of scenery as you cross forest tracks and unpaved roads. It may take a little longer than usual, but as you drive further into the wild with a guaranteed beach spot for the day, it’s sure to be worth the ride.
3. Cala Las Mulas (Murcia)
Within Calblanque Regional Park in Murcia sits a stunning natural cove, a hidden paradise saved for the boldest of explorers. With 180 meters of fine golden sand and a dramatic backdrop of rocky cliffs, this protected environment offers some well-deserved respite from the crowded beaches along the Mediterranean coast. Comfortable shoes are a must when visiting Cala Las Mulas, as you’ll have to hike for about 2km to pass through a protected path surrounded by palm trees and native vegetation. This rocky cove is for those who love a good challenge. A truly secluded spot, Cala en Basset can only be reached by boat or a 2km walking path. The walking route usually takes about 45 minutes depending on your pace, but it’s best to tread lightly and calmly on this rocky hike.Because it’s not the easiest place to access, this hidden cove with crystal-clear turquoise waters is one of the few beaches in Mallorca that never gets too crowded. But it’s all worth it in the end, as you’ll be rewarded with a special treat. The mud from this beach is said to be an excellent beauty treatment for the skin, so be sure to pamper yourself with a mud massage once you arrive.
