How do I transfer foreign currencies with N26?
- Open the N26 app and go to the ‘Home’ screen
- Tap on ‘Send Money’ and select the ‘+’ on the top right corner of your screen
- Select ‘Foreign Currency Transfer’
- Enter the amount and select the currency to get a quote
- Add and review your recipient’s bank details and confirm the transfer!
How do international exchange rates work?
Exchange rates represent what one currency is worth compared to another. When an international money transfer is made between accounts, the exchange rate calculates the difference between currencies based on the markets at that exact time. These rates change regularly based on fluctuating global trade markets. In addition to this conversion, transaction fees might also be applied, and can vary from bank to bank.

How to send money abroad with N26
Sending money abroad with N26 is simple and intuitive. You can choose from a variety of different transfer types — from bank transfers to SWIFT payments to debit or credit card transfers, and much more — for a low, transparent fee.
To send money internationally, simply open your N26 app, tap ‘Send Money’ on the ‘Home’ screen, and select ‘Foreign Currency Transfer.’ You’ll be guided through the steps to complete your transfer the quick and easy way.
Do I need a Wise login to use this feature with my N26 account?
You don’t need a Wise login to send payments internationally, as N26 has partnered with Wise to power payments directly through the N26 app.
How long does it take for the money to reach the recipient’s bank account?
Not long at all. In fact, some payments will be processed instantly, and most will be completed in one business day. However, this can vary depending on the currency. When you enter your transfer details, we’ll give you a quote and estimated arrival for different transfer options.
Can I set up a recurring transfer?
Not yet, but we’re working on it!
A currency that I used previously isn’t listed now. Can I still make transfers in that currency?

What do I need to open a free bank account with N26?
You must meet the following requirements to open an N26 Standard free bank account:
- Be over the age of 18
- Live in an eligible country
