About the opportunity
We are seeking a People Operations Excellence Lead with deep expertise in Workday, process automation, and AI-driven optimization. This role plays a critical part in shaping and scaling our People Operations infrastructure by owning benefits administration, improving systems and workflows, enhancing employee self-service through Workday and AI tools, and ensuring process excellence.
In addition to driving cross-functional projects, data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency, you will lead a small team focused on these same areas. You’ll provide direction, mentorship, and oversight as you collectively deliver automation, documentation, knowledge management, and reporting solutions that enable a seamless and scalable employee experience.
In this role you will:
Team Leadership & Development- Lead and develop a small team focused on process improvement, automation, and knowledge/documentation management.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to build expertise and accountability within the team.
- Oversee benefits processes including enrollment, compliance, and vendor coordination.
- Support issue resolution and continuously improve the employee benefits experience.
- Serve as a Workday Analyst and SME, supporting configuration, testing, and optimization.
- Continuously improve Workday content, workflows, and self-service capabilities.
- Lead initiatives to integrate AI into People Ops workflows, including document automation and case management.
- Identify opportunities for automation across people processes and implement scalable solutions.
- Lead the creation, documentation, and optimization of core operational processes.
- Ensure clarity, consistency, and cross-functional alignment in how People Ops executes key workflows.
- Own the management and continuous improvement of We26 (our intranet) and Confluence, ensuring they provide up-to-date, user-friendly access to both informal and formal HR policies.
- Drive content strategy for these platforms to support AI integration, self-service, and employee education.
- Maintain and audit employment document templates across all systems to ensure they’re accurate, current, and consistently formatted.
- Partner with Labour Relations, PBPs, and Talent to ensure alignment across templates and platforms.
- Own regular and ad-hoc reporting across headcount, org charts, and other workforce data.
- Manage audit requests and ensure accurate documentation and system readiness at all times.
What you need to be successful:
- 5–7+ years of experience in People Operations or HR systems with 1+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Deep understanding of Workday HCM and reporting.
- Strong background in benefits administration and HR compliance.
- Proven experience with automation tools and document automation solutions.
- Familiarity with AI concepts and implementation in HR processes.
- Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills.
- Data-driven mindset with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience building or maintaining knowledge bases and employee-facing content.
- Comfortable with data analysis, reporting, and HR compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a strong plus
- Based in Barcelona or willing to relocate; this role requires on-site presence in a hybrid working model.
- Workday certification(s) or equivalent HRIS credentials
- Experience in fast-paced, scaling, and highly regulated environments
- Exposure to generative AI tools and their application within HR operations
