When N26 beta began back on Oct 4th, we promised more great features would be unveiled along the way. We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of Google Pay, to coincide with today’s launch of N26 in the UK. As of now, Android users can make contactless payments from their N26 account using Google Pay.
A contactless revolution
It’s fair to say that we’ve come a long way from the days of writing cheques at the checkout. Google Pay’s contactless technology lets you make transactions on the move with minimal fuss. No coins, no card and no bank notes. Simply unlock your phone, hold it up to a payment terminal and you’re good to go.
How it works
To get started, adding your card to Google Pay takes little more than a few right taps within the N26 app. You don’t need to download any extra apps or services to use it. Once your card has been digitized in your Google Account wallet, you only need to unlock your phone and present it at a contactless terminal when prompted to make an instant payment – no need to even open the app!
Collect loyalty points
With Google Pay you can even keep track of purchases and redeem loyalty points; Google will even notify when you’ve built up enough points to use. We hope our customers on Android will enjoy the convenience of Google Pay’s contactless transactions as part of their N26 banking experience – it’s just one of many features we’re adding to the growing UK offering in the near future.
