Ciao Italia! Now you can use your N26 card with Google Pay

Google Pay is here! Beginning today, customers in Italy can now add their N26 card to Google Pay.

Adding your card to Google Pay is just a matter of a few taps right in the N26 app. So there’s no need to download any extra apps or services to use it.

Google Pay is the fast, simple way to pay with Google, your phone, and now your N26 account. And, best of all, it’s entirely free.

We’re a big fan of making it easier to use your money how you want. And Google Pay does just that. Prefer to not carry credit cards around? Google Pay lets you use your phone to pay in stores. Just look for any contactless NFC terminal. Hold and done.

In Italy, contactless payment devices have become an everyday occurrence: making their way into even old-fashioned trattorias as far south as Sicily.

It’s easy to see why. Contactless payments take less time and make it easier to pay without having to rummage for exact change.

When it comes to security, Google Pay puts it front and center. When you use your phone to pay in stores, Google Pay doesn’t send your actual credit or debit card number with your payment. Rather it sends a virtual account number—keeping your card details safe. When using Google Pay online or in apps, you can pay with a few quick clicks. No need to enter your payment info. Google Pay protects your payment info with multiple layers of security, using one of the world’s most advanced security infrastructures to help keep your information safe.

In stores, you can’t make payments totaling more than €25 without unlocking your phone. Meaning if your phone gets stolen, it is probably safer than if you were to lose your card.

Google Pay also helps to downsize your wallet. If you download Google Pay you can keep track of all your individual credit, debit, reward, and gift cards. And collect loyalty points—Google Pay will even alert you when you can use them.
