Our Leadership Team
Valentin Stalf, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Valentin founded N26 in 2013 with his longtime friend Maximilian Tayenthal. Back then, both shared a vision of building a bank that the world loves to use. Today, he is the CEO leading the company that is redesigning banking for the 21st century.
Maximilian Tayenthal, Founder, Co-CEO and COO
Maximilian Tayenthal is founder, co-CEO and COO of N26. Together with his business partner and friend Valentin Stalf, he has built one of the fastest-growing mobile banks in the world.
Alexander Weber, Chief Growth Officer
Alex joined N26 in 2014 as Entrepreneur in Residence, and is today the longest serving team member after the founders.
Gilles BianRosa, Chief Product Officer
Gilles joined N26 in 2021 as Chief Product Officer, and is responsible for defining, leading and implementing The Mobile Bank’s global product strategy.
Gino Cordt, Chief Technology Officer
As the Chief Technology Officer of N26, Gino oversees the firm’s Data and Technology divisions, with the important responsibility of bringing data and security together while building the digital bank the world loves to use.
Thomas Grosse, Chief Banking Officer and Chief Risk Officer
Thomas joined N26 in 2019 as Chief Banking Officer, with the responsibility of overseeing N26’s bank entities and bank partnerships across the globe, as well as leading the group’s banking functions. In 2021, he took on the additional roles of Chief Risk Officer and Managing Director for N26 Bank and Group GmbH, in charge of strengthening N26’s governance, risk and compliance functions.
Anke Ulrich, General Counsel
Anke joined N26 in 2016 as a Senior Legal Counsel and is today, one of the most tenured and long-serving members of N26’s leadership team. She has played an instrumental role in building up N26’s legal function, and took over the role of General Counsel of The Mobile Bank in 2020.
Timo Meyer, Chief People Officer
After over six years at the Mobile Bank, Timo is today the Chief People Officer at N26. In this role, he is responsible for the leadership of the people team, overseeing key initiatives including employee experience, leadership and organizational development.
Arnd Schwierholz, Chief Financial Officer
Arnd Schwierholz assumed his position as Chief Financial Officer of N26 in February 2023, and is responsible for the group’s Accounting, Controlling, Finance, Tax, M&A and Investor Relations divisions.
Marta Echarri, General Manager, Spain and Portugal
Marta Echarri joined N26 at the beginning of 2021 as General Manager for Spain and Portugal, with responsibility for leading the growth strategy and presence of the digital bank in both markets. She also leads the company's technology hub in Barcelona.
Jérémie Rosselli, General Manager, France & BeneLux
Jérémie joined N26 in 2016 as General Manager France, responsible for launching and growing the mobile bank in the French market and gradually to install N26 as the digital bank you will love to use every day.
Andrea Isola, General Manager, Italy and Southeast Europe
Andrea is the General Manager Italy and Southeastern Europe at N26, where he is responsible for growing the digital bank’s presence and key offering in these markets. Andrea is also MD of the Italian branch of N26 Bank.
Daniel Lappas, General Manager, DACH & Northern Europe
Daniel is the General Manager DACH and Northern Europe at N26. He drives the business strategy of the mobile bank in these markets forward in order to continuously make banking easier and more attractive for consumers.

Marcus W. Mosen, Board Chair
Marcus W. Mosen brings more than two decades of management, strategic growth, and leadership experience in payments and fintech and is the former CEO of payments company Concardis. He has also held executive roles at Ingenico, Ogone, Easycash and First Data. As well as being a fintech investor, he is a board member at various fintech startups and a senior advisor to venture capital firms. Marcus will be the Chair of the Supervisory Board.
Jörg Gerbig, Board Vice-Chair
Jörg Gerbig is the Chief Operating Officer of Just Eat Takeaway.com and founder of Lieferando, bringing with him rich experience in scaling fast growing businesses in the digital space. He will hold the position of Vice-Chair of the Board.
Dr. Barbara Roth, Chair of Regulatory Committee
Dr. Barbara Roth is Head of Group Internal Audit at Deutsche Börse. With over two decades of experience as lawyer and manager in banking, capital markets, and M&A, she was also Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at UniCredit Bank AG, where she joined from international law firms. Barbara will Chair the Regulatory Committee of the Board.
Dr. Julian Deutz, Chair of Audit & Risk Committee
Dr. Julian Deutz, Chief Financial Officer of Axel Springer SE, joins the board with decades of experience in finance and accounting, corporate controlling, M&A and investor relations, and will join as the Chair of the Board’s Audit & Risk Committee.
Dr. Robert Kilian, Chair of Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee
Dr. Robert Kilian is the founder of the software company Beams and a lecturer in regulation and entrepreneurship at Humboldt University of Berlin. A lawyer by background, he specialized in M&A at international law firm Hengeler Mueller before joining N26 as Chief Representative and General Counsel until July 2020. He was also a member of the FinTech Council at the German Federal Ministry of Finance and founding President of the European FinTech Association. Robert joins as the Chair of both the Board’s Nomination Committee and Remuneration Committee.
