Can I withdraw money with my N26 debit card abroad?

Yes! All N26 cards let you withdraw money at foreign ATMs. It’s free with You and Metal and standard users only have to pay 1,7% conversion fee.

Which are the N26 foreign exchange rates for paying abroad?

N26 doesn’t charge exchange markups. So you get what your money is worth, without conversion fees. We use the real exchange rate, provided by Mastercard.

Which are the N26 exchange rates for withdrawing abroad?

Premium accounts don’t pay any fees for withdrawing money. While free plans pay a one-time 1,7% on withdrawals in currencies outside the Eurozone.

How much does the N26 Standard bank account cost?

The N26 Standard bank account is free of charge—there are no minimum opening deposits, no minimum account balance requirements, and no maintenance fees.

What is the Mastercard exchange rate?

Mastercard bases their exchange rate on the mid-market rate, but it can be marginally higher or lower depending on a number of factors. But we don’t change our rates.

What happens if I pay with my card abroad?

If you pay with your card in any country in the eurozone, you won’t have to pay any fees. You’ll only have to pay a fee if you withdraw money from an ATM, although not all banks will charge you.

In a country that uses a currency other than the euro, you’ll generally have to pay currency conversion fees when you pay with your card or withdraw money from an ATM, but there are exceptions depending on the bank.

With N26, you can avoid fees when using your card abroad.

Do I have to activate my card to use it abroad?

You can activate your card to use it abroad in your bank’s app.

To activate your N26 card and use it abroad, follow these steps from the Home tab in your N26 app:

  1. Go to the Cards tab.

  2. Swipe until you see the card you want to activate.

  3. Select Card Settings and tap Activate. To activate a card in the N26 web app, select Activate Card from the Home tab.

  4. When you’ve finished activating your card in the app, the final step is to make a cash withdrawal from an ATM using your N26 card.
