About the opportunity
We are seeking a Senior User Researcher to deepen our understanding of user needs, attitudes, and motivations—shaping product strategy to create meaningful, customer-driven experiences that drive N26’s success.
Our User Research team sits at the core of product development, ensuring every decision is grounded in deep user insights. We believe strong research drives both user and business success.
This role offers the opportunity to conduct impactful research, influence how our organization leverages user insights, and shape the future of our products. You’ll grow, experiment, and make a lasting impact on both our team and the financial lives of our users.
In this role, you will:
- Identify
key research opportunities
that address critical knowledge gaps and influence both product and company strategy. - Design and execute multimethod research studies in
all levels of complexity
to uncoveruser needs, pain points, and behaviors
, ensuring insights directly inform product decisions. - Synthesize findings into
clear, actionable insights
and effectively communicate them to cross-functional teams. - Partner closely with
product managers, designers, and engineers
to integrate research findings into product development. - Drive the
growth and scalability of the research discipline
within N26, mentoring junior researchers and refining processes and best practices. Mentor and support
team members in conducting research while maintaining high-quality standards across all research initiatives.
What you need to be successful:
Background:
- Degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience conducting user research in product-driven tech companies
Research Expertise:
You master a range of research methods, including generative research, evaluative techniques, and rigorous survey design. Bonus if you can demonstrate knowledge of basic applied statistics and/or SQL.Strategic Thinking:
You thrive in ambiguity, breaking down unstructured questions into clear, actionable research plans that generate meaningful insights and drive key metrics and company goals.Business Acumen:
You understand product and business metrics deeply, aligning research insights to drive measurable impact on business objectives.Collaboration and Influence:
You build strong relationships across teams, champion user-centered approaches, and ensure research insights shape critical decisions.Storytelling:
You communicate insights in a compelling and structured way, driving engagement and inspiring stakeholders to take immediate action.Adaptability and Growth:
You continuously evolve with the discipline, embracing new tools, methods, and frameworks to stay at the forefront of impactful research.Grit and Enthusiasm:
You navigate fast-paced, ambiguous environments with resilience, tackling challenges head-on and pushing through uncertainty. You maintain a bias for action, ensuring progress even in unclear situations, while bringing energy that inspires teams and sustains momentum toward meaningful impact.Language:
fluency in German if based in Germany; fluency in Spanish if located in Spain
