Senior Quality Engineer - Financial Empowerment

About the opportunity

You will work in the Financial Empowerment domain. Our goal is to empower everyone to achieve financial freedom and unlock their potential for a better life by providing N26 users with access to the money they need to achieve their life objectives, whether today (deposits or borrowing) or tomorrow (saving and investing). We are looking for a Software Quality Engineer in our Berlin/Barcelona office. You will be working with a couple of teams as part of our Lending & Savings segment in the Financial Empowerment domain.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the quality culture in cross-functional teams and make sure that good testing practices are present & followed
• Design, develop and maintain test cases and other test documentation for our Android, iOS and Web applications
• Establish testing as an integral part of the development process within cross-functional teams
• Coach engineers on testing practices and ensure the whole team is responsible for quality
• Develop maintainable automated checks in collaboration with other engineering disciplines
• Proactively suggest improvements to the quality of our tools, services and products
• Use exploratory testing techniques to discover and prevent issues
• Report bugs and follow up on their resolution

What you need to be successful:

• At least 6 years of relevant experience in software testing and quality engineering
• You view quality holistically and ensure the consistent delivery of quality products by your team
• You have proven experience implementing testing strategies in fast-paced agile environments
• Demonstrated experience in testing Mobile (Android & iOS), Web and Microservice applications is essential
• Solid coding background in Java, Kotlin, JavaScript or similar
• Clean code and SOLID design principles are in the root of your software craftmanship
• You build and maintain test automation frameworks based on industry leading tools like: Appium, Rest-Assured, Gatling, Cypress...
• You know how to measure quality and gather metrics to demonstrate continuous improvement
• You are an excellent debugger with strong analytical skills
• You know how to work with Jira, TestRail, or similar issues and test case management tools
• You have professional English speaking proficiency
• Experience with Compliance in Software Development is a plus
