Traveling for necessary reasons during the COVID-19 pandemic, and looking for an extra safety net in case things don’t go according to plan? We’ve got you covered. If you’re a premium N26 You, N26 Business You, N26 Metal or N26 Business Metal customer, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ve expanded your Allianz Assistance travel coverage to include epidemic and pandemic coverage for your travels, at no extra cost. Read on below to find out what’s newly included, and how to make a claim. Canceling a fully booked trip or cutting a trip short can be stressful, especially if you’re stuck having to pay out-of-pocket for your lost journey. If you’re an N26 You, N26 Business You, N26 Metal or N26 Business Metal customer making travel plans, you’ll now have extended travel cancellation and curtailment benefits, including pandemic coverage for claims relating to COVID-19. This trip cancellation and curtailment coverage is valid for all trips abroad, and for trips to destinations farther than 100km from your home in your country of residence, which begin on or after January 22, 2021. If you have to cancel an upcoming trip or cut a trip short because you or a travel companion is diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19, you’ll be able to claim compensation. In addition, you’ll now also be covered up to a maximum amount of €10,000 if your trip is interrupted or canceled because you or your travel companion are placed into an individual quarantine due to exposure to a virus. In this case, you must have been specifically singled out as an individual case, and ordered to quarantine by the government or a public authority. Please note that you must not have traveled against government or public authority advice. This new pandemic coverage will not cover cases where a quarantine applies generally to the wider population or a region, or to the place you are traveling from, through, or to. This means that if you develop a sudden, unexpected illness, injury or medical condition that could cause you serious harm while on a trip overseas — including being diagnosed with an epidemic or pandemic disease such as COVID-19 — you’ll be covered for emergency hospitalization and medical treatment, along with medicine costs, medical transportation, and repatriation assistance, if necessary. If you’re an N26 You, N26 Business You, N26 Metal or N26 Business Metal customer, you can get a complete overview of your Allianz Assistance coverage in your N26 app at any time. Simply open your N26 app, then head to Insurances in the Explore tab to view all active travel coverage that’s offered with your N26 membership.
You can find a complete list of the required documents for your claim in your N26 app. Go to My Account, select N26 You, N26 Business You, N26 Metal or N26 Business Metal, and tap on Allianz coverage. Choose the type of claim you’d like to make, and then tap Start my claim process to view the complete list of required documents that are needed to submit your claim.
The Allianz Assistance coverage included with your N26 You, Business You, Metal or Business Metal membership begins when you open your N26 account. For claims related to COVID-19, epidemic and pandemic coverage is automatically included as part of your Allianz Assistance travel coverage from January 22, 2021, at no extra cost. This means that if your trip begins on, or after January 22, 2021, N26 You, Business You, Metal and Business Metal customers will be covered under the epidemic and pandemic travel benefit.
You’re not required to partially or fully pay for your trip with your N26 card for you to be eligible for Travel Medical Emergency and Assistance.
For you to be eligible for Luggage Delay, Luggage Loss, Theft, or Damage, Flight Delay, Travel Cancellation, and Travel Curtailment, at least one Qualifying Expense must be paid with your N26 card.
Yes. Your Allianz Assistance travel benefit includes epidemic and pandemic travel coverage for emergency medical treatment, trip cancellation and trip curtailment claims related to COVID-19. You will be reimbursed if you or a travel companion is diagnosed with COVID-19 or placed into an individual quarantine due to exposure to the virus.
