Head of Outsourcing & Business Continuity Management

About the opportunity

We're looking for a Head of BCM(Business Continuity) and (OSM) Outsourcing Management to join the CISO office team in Berlin. You'll play a key role in keeping our Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and OMS  running smoothly and making sure we're always ready to tackle whatever comes our way.

In this role, you will:

  • Mitigate Operational Risks: Utilize BCM’s incident response framework to minimize disruptions and ensure seamless operations during emergencies or crises.
  • Steer Priorities in the CISO office: As part of the CISO Office leadership team, you will be responsible for forecasting your teams roadmap and ensure it aligns with the overall vision within the CISO Office, engaging with leadership to prioritize and act on key deliverables and maintaining clear and transparent communication channels
  • Enhance Preparedness: Strengthen N26's emergency and crisis response capabilities to effectively manage unforeseen events.
  • Drive Alignment and Standardization: Lead group-wide BCM and COSM alignment efforts for processes to ensure consistent and effective business continuity and outsourcing management across the organization that ensures a fast and amazing security experience. Drive the development and implementation of standardized policies, procedures, tools, and templates for both business continuity and outsourcing management to ensure a fast and amazing security experience.
  • Promote Awareness: Foster a culture of resilience by ensuring all employees understand the importance of Business Continuity Management and Outsourcing Management and their individual roles in maintaining operational stability and security.
  • Ensure Compliance: Take ownership of initiatives to ensure N26 meets all relevant business continuity and outsourcing compliance requirements, demonstrating a strong understanding of KWG, MaRisk, BAIT, EBA Guidelines, and DORA. Ensure N26's outsourcing governance framework, including internal policies, procedures, tools, templates, reporting mechanisms, and governance structures, is fully compliant with both internal and external regulatory demands, incl. structured 2nd Level controls.

What you need to be successful:

  • Working experience (10+ years) in the BCM/CISO/Outsourcing Management field 
  • Industry experience within Banking/Payment/Fintech Services or Technology
  • Excellent communication skills; you strive to work in a young and growing company, and it is in your nature to find pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to drive discovery processes for BCM and Outsourcing, an entrepreneurial vision, an autonomous attitude, and a ‘get things done’ approach
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand risk from a broader business ownership perspective
  • Excellent understanding of banks’ regulatory environment and internal control systems.
  • Understanding of legislation affecting Outsourcing & Business Continuity Management; experiencing working to recognised standards – e.g. BSI 200-4, ISO 22301, DORA, BaFin BAIT, MaRisk etc
  • Ability to influence the strategic direction of the organization by enabling company-wide improvement and compliance initiatives
  • Excellent understanding of change management principles and toolset
  • Experience in AWS cloud infrastructure environment (3+ years)
  • B.Tech. or B.Sc. CS (or higher) is a plus
  • English language proficiency required, German is a plus
  • Collaborative approach and analytical skills to problem solving
  • Able to quickly understand business processes and communicate effectively with a wide range of business leaders
  • Relevant certification (such as ISO22301 or BSI200-4) preferred
