Fraud Risk Prevention Manager

About the opportunity

We are seeking a  Fraud Risk Prevention Manager with data management proficiency (SQL) and vast experience in fraud prevention Our Fraud Risk Management team is in charge of monitoring, detecting and coordinating the  prevention of fraud targeting our users, accounts, products and financial assets.  In this role you’ll be responsible for the monitoring of fraud KPIs and dashboards, preparing fraud pattern reports, coordinating the prevention of open risks,  modelling fraud risk rules and giving them maintenance and delivering fraud risk assessments for new projects and changes in existing products. The ultimate goals are  protecting the financial assets of N26 and its customers, ensuring compliance with fraud legal requirements and avoiding reputational and regulatory risk linked to fraud while enabling the company to grow in a sustainable way.

In this role, you will:

  • Detect Fraud Trends related to Payment schemes and money transfers.
  • Use data management tools to create modules able to predict, detect and help to prevent fraud.
  • Maintenance of all the processes and project documentation under your scope registered and up to date
  • Perform fraud risk assessments for new products and changes on existing ones.
  • Ensure full compliance on our fraud prevention processes
  • Work together with the second line of defence to establish a comprehensive company fraud risk appetite across all different fraud categories.
  • Modelling of fraud prevention rules linked to financial fraud (Having a direct impact on our customers and our P&L)
  • Work closely with operational and PTX stakeholders to coordinate prevention and compliance initiatives linked to fraud prevention.
  • Support in the creation of business cases and regulatory reporting as SMEs

What you need to be successful:

Background:

  • At least 5  years of experience in fraud prevention or similar positions. (Knowledge in mule accounts, scams and card fraud)
  • Data analytics profile
  • Ideally previous team management experience.
  • High analytical and mathematical background
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in mule accounts, scams and card fraud
  • Being detail oriented
  • You have at least graduated with a Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience in audited/heavily regulated environments is an asset

Skills:

  • Fluent in English (German, French, Spanish and Italian  are a plus) 
  • High proficiency in Structured Query Language/SQL (Data management)  is a must for this role ( R and Python are a plus).
  •  KYC knowledge and previous experience in a Fintech environment are also a plus
