Here’s how to pay with Google Pay
Going contactless? Our guide will show you how to pay with Google Pay.

Want to start making contactless payments with your Android device and your N26 card? You’re in the right place—we’ll show you how. But first, a few essential details.
What exactly is Google Pay?
Well, it’s a fast, secure way to make payments with a mobile phone—such as at the supermarket or at the hairdresser’s. It’s completely safe, and you don’t even have to show your credit or debit card as your data is securely saved in your Google account.
The fantastic thing about Google Pay is that it really speeds up the purchasing process. Take the supermarket, for instance, where we usually have a lot of bags. We’re forced to leave them on the floor to look for our wallet. Then, once we’ve got it, we start looking for the credit card, debit card, loyalty card... the list goes on. It’s happened to all of us. With Google Pay however, all you have to do is take the phone out of your pocket—in case it isn’t already in your hand—hold it near the payment terminal (POS), and that’s it! It’s as simple as it’s effective.
And it works in exactly the same way for online purchases. You’ll skip past the never-ending forms, and head straight to checkout.

Forget your wallet, and ditch the cash
Ultimately, Google Pay is your virtual wallet. This application allows you to add your credit card on it, and use it directly from your mobile phone wherever you can make contactless payments. No need to rummage around in your bag for anything.
How does Google Pay work?
It’s really easy to use Google Pay. You can do it in 3 steps and none of them require much effort.
- Unlock your phone.
- Hold it against the payment terminal.
- Check that the payment has been made correctly.
Technology is here to make our lives easier and more comfortable, and Google Pay and N26 are a clear example of this.
Where can you pay with Google Pay?
The question is more like… where can’t you pay? With N26 and Google Pay, you’ll be able to pay at all stores (physical and virtual ones) where you see the Google Pay logo or contactless symbol. Supermarkets, malls, gas stations, restaurants—you name it.
They say the best things in life are for free. And we agree, because Google Pay is just that. Totally free. Once you have a phone with NFC technology and mobile data—or failing that, WiFi—you’re good to go.
