N26 advances search for new Chief Financial Officer as Arnd Schwierholz transitions to next chapter

Berlin, 29 July 2026 – N26 today announced that Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Managing Director of N26 SE and N26 Bank SE Arnd Schwierholz will step away from his roles at the end of August 2026. Arnd joined N26 as CFO in 2023 before taking on additional responsibility as a Managing Director of N26 SE and N26 Bank SE. He also served as interim Co-CEO between January and April 2026. His decision follows the bank delivering its first full-year profit in the financial year of 2025, finishing the year with revenues exceeding €500 million and gross profit of more than €350 million. A successor will be announced in due course, and N26’s core leadership bench will focus on operational continuity and the disciplined execution of the bank's European growth strategy. In the interim, Chief Operating Officer Aytac Aydin will assume responsibility for the bank’s Finance team, subject to regulatory approval.
Mike Dargan, Chief Executive Officer of N26 said,“I would like to extend my gratitude to Arnd for his contributions and his discipline in guiding N26 towards sustainable profitability. His leadership has meant that we look ahead from a position of financial strength, and I wish him the very best for his next chapter. Our core management team will continue to oversee all financial and operational roadmaps directly, ensuring continuity and steady leadership while we finalize the onboarding of his successor.”
Dr. Andreas Dombret, Chairman of the N26 Supervisory Board added, “The Supervisory Board thanks Arnd for his years of dedicated service as CFO and interim Co-CEO, and his contributions in laying N26’s financial foundations as a profitable and resilient European bank.
