Associate IAM Specialist
Department:Tech - Information Risk Management
Location:Barcelona
About the opportunity
The Internal IT team creates a secure, compliant by design, environment where seamless access to essential IT assets empowers individuals and teams to innovate and achieve their highest impact with confidence and minimal risk.
The IAM (Identity and Access Management) team is continuously trying to optimise and automate manual tasks to cope with the tremendous growth of the company, moving away from traditional IT into a more DevSecOps approach relying on technology to empower people. This team keeps the show running by onboarding and offboarding user accounts, managing accounts, and granting/revoking access to tools. It's a multidisciplinary team with a customer first attitude.
As an Associate IAM Specialist, you will learn the fundamental concepts, best practices, and operational procedures of the identity function area. You will work closely with our Engineering, Security, and Product teams, receiving mentorship from senior members as you execute established procedures under moderate supervision. If you like to think out of the box, learn how to automate processes, and make people's lives easier, we are looking for you!
In this role, you will:
- Support the access management process for tools by monitoring the queue and handling standard tickets based on priority.
- Support employees in resolving standard access-related issues with the systems we use, escalating complex problems when necessary.
- Manage and process daily identity management and access requests.
- Assist with IT onboarding workflows, supporting account creation and initial access provisioning for new joiners.
- Execute routine controls within IAM processes to maintain data accuracy and compliance.
- Since IT Support and IAM Operations are a part of the same team you will become familiar with basic IT Support tasks so can leverage each other's skillset when required.
- Assist in updating and maintaining IT documentation, including support guides and operations process manuals.
- Support with audit-related activities by helping collect required data and evidence.
What you need to be successful:
- 0–2 years of experience in Identity and Access Management, IT helpdesk, or a related technical support role.
- Experience using a ticket-based enterprise workflow management system, preferably Jira and other Atlassian products.
- Familiarity with cloud-based office suites, especially Google Workspace / GSuite Admin.
- A foundational understanding or high motivation to learn IAM technologies and solutions such as Okta.
- Basic knowledge of identity and access management concepts (such as authentication, authorisation, and role-based access control). Awareness of industry protocols like SAML, SCIM, OAuth, or OIDC is a plus.
- A strong desire to learn the end-to-end IAM lifecycle (e.g., provisioning, deprovisioning, recertification, and segregation of duties).
- Basic understanding of how APIs function and their general utility.
- Ability to be empathetic, humble, and possess a strong focus on customer service.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a growth mindset and comfort in asking for guidance when needed.
What’s in it for you:
- Accelerate your career growth by joining one of Europe’s most talked about disruptors 🚀.
- Employee benefits that range from a competitive personal development budget, work from home budget, discounts to fitness & wellness memberships, language apps and public transportation.
- As an N26 employee you will have access to a Premium subscription on your personal N26 bank account. As well as subscriptions for friends and family members.
- Additional day of annual leave for each year of service.
- A high degree of autonomy and access to cutting edge technologies - all while working with a friendly team of peers of diverse nationalities, experiences, and backgrounds.
- A relocation package with visa support for those who need it.
