Legal Counsel Data Privacy (1-year FTC)

Your Role:
- You will work in our ‘Beyond Banking Law’ Team and have the exciting opportunity to gain experience in data protection law, as well as at the implementation of the AI Act, at a continuously growing and regulated company.
- The focus of your work will be the legal review of various issues related to data protection, as well as the negotiation of contracts of various kinds in close collaboration with different company stakeholders, external companies, and law firms.
- You will independently handle legal questions related to national and European data protection law. In doing so, you will identify and assess data protection and business risks, create solution strategies, and creatively assist in their implementation.
- You will advise the product team on data protection issues, especially concerning compliance with data protection regulations, as well as AI related legal requirements. Additionally, you will provide legal support in the creation and development of app and product features and flows, and internal tools.
- You will be responsible for creating the necessary internal and external data protection documentation (such as processing directories, data protection impact assessments, balancing of interests, and privacy policies) in the projects you work on.
- As part of the Data Privacy Team, you will help build, expand, and automate processes, update templates, and contribute to our Template Gallery.
- You will also support the team about legal changes and developments in the context of European data protection and AI law.
What You Should Bring:
Background:- You are a fully EU qualified lawyer with excellent results in your university studies and you are registered or may register with a bar association to practice law
- You have 1-2 years professional experience in data protection law in a renowned law firm or international company (in the Legal Team preferred).
- You have already acquired knowledge in the legal areas mentioned above.
- You are fluent in English, spoken and written. Knowledge of additional languages (particularly German, Spanish, French, or Italian) is a plus.

A legal traineeship with a data protection authority is an advantage.
- You have a strong interest in regulated companies, technical and business contexts, as well as digital business models.
- You work independently, make decisions, and are ready to represent them both internally and externally, but also value teamwork and collaboration.
- You are willing to pragmatically explore new areas and closely follow dynamic regulatory developments in data protection and AI law.
- You possess a high level of integrity, commitment, and initiative, and are not afraid to take on responsibility.
