About the opportunity
As the Manager of Financial Control and Reconciliation
, you will be the guardian of data integrity across the N26 Group. Your mission is to ensure that every Euro flowing through our Core Banking System (CBS) is accurately reflected in our ERP and ultimately our Financial Reporting. You will lead the transformation from manual checks to a high-speed, automated control environment, serving as the critical interface between Data, Technology, and Finance.In this role, you will:
- Design and oversee the reconciliation framework between the CBS, the ERP, and external reporting tools.
- Identify manual intervention points in the reconciliation flow and lead the implementation of automated matching engines and reconciliation software.
- Act as the primary liaison between Data Engineering and Finance to ensure that data pipelines are built with accounting logic and control requirements in mind.
- Assess the impact of
new product launches
on the control environment. You will design the accounting flows and control points for every new feature before it goes live. - Create and maintain "best-in-class" documentation for all reconciliation processes, ensuring they are transparent, repeatable, and audit-proof.
- Continuously review existing processes for compliance with internal controls (ICS) and regulatory requirements, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
What you need to be successful
- 7+ years of experience in Financial Control, Audit, or Finance Operations within the Banking or FinTech sector.
- Deep understanding of how data moves from a transactional layer (CBS) to an accounting layer (ERP). Experience with Workday and specialized reconciliation tools (e.g., ReconArt, BlackLine, or Gresham) is a major plus.
- You speak "Data" as well as "Finance." Comfort with SQL, data visualization (Tableau/Power BI), or ETL processes is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Internal Control Systems (ICS) and experience designing controls for complex financial products.
- You don't just find a discrepancy; you find the root cause in the code or the process and fix it permanently.
- A University degree in Finance, Business Informatics, or Accounting. Professional certifications (CPA, CIA, or CISA) are an advantage.
- Fluency in English is essential. You must be able to translate complex technical data issues into clear financial impacts for senior stakeholders.
