Senior Manager of Regulatory Project Management

About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Manager Regulatory Project Management to join N26 and play a critical role in strengthening our regulatory resilience. This role is responsible for the trusted coordination, execution, and oversight of high-impact regulatory projects, ensuring consistent, audit-proof implementation across the organization. You will act as a central point of coordination between regulators, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership, operating in a highly visible and strategically important role.
In this role, you will:
- Own and coordinate the Regulatory Resilience Program Office (RRPO), acting as the single source of truth for tracking, monitoring, and reporting regulatory findings across all supervisory and internal audits (e.g. SREP, §44 audits, Internal Audit, Annual Financial Statement Audits).
- Lead the preparation, coordination, and execution of supervisory audits and regulatory projects, ensuring high quality, consistency, and timely delivery across external audits and internal initiatives with high regulatory impact.
- Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for supervisory monitors throughout the full lifecycle of audits and monitoring engagements, including managing all inbound and outbound communication with regulators.
- Shape and drive the regulatory project agenda, proposing prioritization and sequencing of regulatory initiatives based on audit findings, upcoming supervisory reviews, and the regulatory roadmap for Management Board decision-making.
- Coordinate and quality-assure the strategic remediation of regulatory findings, ensuring consistent, efficient, and high-quality closure across departments.
- Support First Line of Defense teams in understanding and implementing regulatory requirements, including guidance on the Three Lines of Defense model, process improvements, and regulatory change outcomes.
- Coordinate closely with Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, IT, Operations, and PTX to ensure regulatory requirements are implemented effectively and aligned with regulatory deadlines.
What you need to be successful:
Background:
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a comparable field.
- Several years of experience coordinating complex, regulatory-driven projects within a bank, fintech, or regulated financial institution, ideally covering topics such as MiFID II, DORA, CRR/CRD amendments, or similar supervisory initiatives.
- Strong hands-on experience in regulatory project management, audit coordination, and remediation tracking.
- Proven understanding of German and European supervisory law, including KWG, MaRisk, CRR/CRD, Delegated Acts, and BaFin circulars.
Solid knowledge of the Three Lines of Defense model and financial institution governance structures. - Experience working with both classical and agile project management methodologies.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory topics clearly to both subject matter experts and senior executive audiences.
- High level of diplomacy and negotiation skills, especially in audit-heavy and high-pressure environments.
- Strong prioritization skills, resilience, and the ability to perform effectively under regulatory and supervisory pressure.
- Fluency in German and English
