Junior Analytics Engineer

About the opportunity
As a part of our Analytics Engineering organization you will work at the intersection of governance, analytics and data engineering.. You will be contributing directly to how we manage and scale data ownership, discoverability and access at N26.
You will support strategic efforts around tool integrations, platforms and access policies. Your work will enable teams to self service with confidence and ensure our governance model is scalable, auditable and actionable.
You will be part of a central Data Governance and Analytics Engineering team and work with the following tech stack:
- AWS as our cloud provider along with a variety of tools and services
- Redshift as our main Data Warehouse and the main environment for data work
- DBT for our data transformations
- Metabase for data visualizations and dashboarding
- OpenMetadata as our data catalog
In this role, you will:
- Support the adoption and integration of N26 Data Governance tooling
- Collaborate with Engineering and Analytics teams to define, document and implement data access management rules
- Contribute to ownership mapping, data dictionary developments and metadata standardization
- Work with domain experts to identify sources of truth, implement quality standards, and clarify lineage
- Enable structured governance processes through close collaboration with product, data and business teams
- Create scalable processes that you can automate to reduce human error and day-to-day repetitive tasks as much as possible
What you need to be successful:
- At least six months hands on experience in data analytics, engineering or other related discipline
- Experience with SQL
- Proven success in automating processes with Python scripts
- First insights into ETL/ELT processes, data modelling and data warehousing architecture
- Interest in data governance concepts
- Strong communication and collaboration skills especially when working with across functions
- A structured, detail-oriented approach with curiosity to improve how data is organized and used
- Curiosity about data governance regulations and standards (e.g. GDPR, DORA, BCBS 239, DAMA-DMBOK)
- Exposure to data engineering and/or topics like pipeline architecture, metadata integrations or access management
- Hands on experience with tools from our tech stack such as DBT, OpenMetadata etc
