About the opportunity
As the Head of Marketing Data, you will be a leader responsible for shaping the company’s marketing strategies and driving customer engagement through a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous experimentation. You will ensure the highest level of data quality, providing the insights and a single source of truth needed to support marketing initiatives. You will lead a team of data professionals (Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, and Data Scientists) in the Growth and Marketing Data domain, delivering value through both automated systems and powerful decision-support tools. Your mission is to foster a culture of curiosity and truth-telling, empowering teams across the company to test hypotheses, learn from failures, and validate strategies with objective data.In this role, you will:
- Data Domain Leadership: As the leader of the Marketing Data domain, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of data professionals, including Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, and Data Scientists. You will provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to ensure the success of your team in achieving departmental and organizational goals.
- Data Strategy: Develop and execute a data strategy that aligns with the marketing objectives and the company's overall vision. This includes determining the right data sources, data collection methods, and data storage solutions to support growth and marketing initiatives effectively.
- Data Quality and Governance: Ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of marketing data. Implement data governance and privacy policies to comply with industry regulations and best practices.
- Customer Insights: Lead the effort to extract valuable customer insights from data, enabling the marketing team to make informed decisions about segmentation, targeting, and personalized marketing campaigns.
- Optimization: Collaborate with the marketing team to design data-driven campaigns and initiatives, leveraging customer behavior data to optimize customer engagement and conversion rates.
- Data Products: Lead and own advanced analytics initiatives, providing guidance for sophisticated projects such as the development of Lifetime Value Models (LTV) and Marketing Mix Models (MMM).
- Data Analytics: Oversee the development of data analytics, dashboards, and reports that provide marketing teams with insights into campaign performance, customer behavior, and market trends.
- Data Innovation: Stay updated with emerging technologies, data science methods, and marketing trends, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation within the marketing domain.
What you need to be successful:
- +10 years of experience in a data leadership role, preferably within a fast-paced consumer-tech environment.
- Proven experience in developing and executing data products and data strategies.
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and privacy regulations.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of data professionals (Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists).
- A strong analytical mindset with a passion for using data to solve complex business problems.
- Advanced technical skills, including a deep understanding of data languages, with advanced SQL-Skills being a must-have, and a proficiency in Python or R being highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouses and proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Strong understanding of the Martech stack.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively across different teams.
- A bias for action and a high-ownership mentality.
