We are seeking a highly driven Steering & Planning Manager to join our team in Berlin or Barcelona, focusing on operational excellence & scalability. We're looking for a hands-on problem solver—someone ready to roll up their sleeves and dive deep into all areas of the business to support millions of customers worldwide. You will play a pivotal role in driving our growth, expansion, and ongoing compliance efforts by collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to shape business strategies and enable operational change. In this role, you will work closely with Product & Tech as well as with our Operations teams, serving as one of their key business partners.In this role, you will:
- Lead continuous improvement and automation initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and reduce operational costs.
- Analysing operational processes to identify and implement opportunities for optimisation, efficiency and cost reduction
- Define, track and report on key operational metrics (KPIs/ SLAs) to ensure alignment with company objectives, proactively reviewing data and performance insights
- Develop business cases and implementation plans setting timelines to achieve goals efficiently.
- Managing project prioritisation.
- Partner cross-functionally with Ops, Product, Tech, Data, Finance, Compliance and Risk and other teams to align process improvement strategies with company goals.
- Drive the execution and governance of strategic operations projects from concept through delivery.
What you need to be successful:
Background
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from a top-tier university.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fast-paced environments in Strategy & Operations, Consulting, corporate strategy roles
- Track record of successfully leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and automation initiatives at scale.
- Understanding the use of modern technologies (including LLMs and AI agents) to design and build scalable, automated solutions.
- Proven experience dealing with Business Process Outsourcing and external vendors, with strong collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with operating in highly regulated environments and KPI-driven organizations is a plus.
Skills
- Project management experience, particularly in cross-functional teams with Product, Tech, or Customer Support Operations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and SQL.
- Strong storytelling and visual communication skills using PowerPoint
- Good understanding of process design, analytics, and KPI frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams in a multicultural environment across various areas of expertise
- Comfortable working independently and engaging with relevant stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Passion for the banking and fintech industry, with a desire to deepen understanding of how N26 operates.
