Localization Specialist - Spanish Market

About the opportunity
We’re seeking a Spanish transcreation expert to join our Localization team in Berlin. In this role, you’ll take ownership of Spanish-language localization for a wide variety of different touchpoints, including paid media, CRM, social media, owned properties like our website, UX, PR, and brand campaigns. We’re looking for someone with an exceptional ability to go beyond simple translations to transcreate copy that strongly resonates with our Spanish audience, creatively brings our brand voice to life, and sets the standard for great writing in our industry.In this role, you will:
- Expertly transcreate all content and marketing copy for the Spanish market, with a focus on clarity, creativity, and local resonance.
- Be responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy and authenticity in localised content. This includes demonstrating a nuanced understanding of cultural context.
- Proactively identify and resolve localization challenges, proposing process enhancements that elevate efficiency and content quality.
- Work closely with the Spanish market and cross-functional teams, like CRM and paid media, to understand context, provide linguistic insights, and ensure alignment with localization requirements.
- Manage local translation agencies or freelancers when needed, and provide feedback on the quality of their work.
- Contribute to documentation and guidelines that streamline and elevate the quality of our work.
- Share best practices with localization experts in other languages, as well as other content team members outside the marketing function.
- Assist the SEO team in creating a content strategy and briefs that resonate with your local market.
What you need to be successful:
Background:- 2+ years of experience as a localization specialist in a marketing department, ideally in a multinational company.
- Native-level Spanish speaker with outstanding spelling and grammar skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Comfortable working in an English-speaking environment.
- Proven cultural understanding of the Spanish market to effectively engage with the local audience.
- A recognized qualification in Languages or any linguistic-related field like Translation, Journalism, Literature, Foreign Languages is preferred.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives, while remaining focused and calm.
- Ability to challenge yourself to deliver work that stands out creatively, even in the highly regulated financial industry.
- A learning mindset and eager to grow in your role.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience with automated translation tools are a plus, along with experience in Spanish copywriting or creative writing.
