How to Split the Bill
Split the Bill lets you split payments made from your N26 account with friends or family members, even if they’re not N26 customers.
Here’s how:
- Tap on the transaction in your N26 app, and select 'Split the Bill'
- Select the people you want to split the bill with
- Choose an even or custom split
- Tap 'confirm split request' to review and send
N26 customers will receive a MoneyBeam request, while other contacts will get a message with the amount they owe and your banking details.

After you’ve paid, just tap on the transaction on the ‘Home’ tab in your N26 app, select ‘Split the Bill’ and choose the people you’d like to split the bill with. You can choose an even split or assign custom amounts to everyone. N26 users will receive a MoneyBeam request and can pay you back instantly, while your other contacts will receive a message with your account details and the amount they need to pay you.
Can I split bills with someone outside N26?
You can split a bill with anyone, as long as you have their contact details. Splitting a bill with N26 customers does mean they can pay you back instantly and settle your bill in seconds. Non-N26 users will receive a message with your banking details and the amount they need to pay you.
How long does it take to split a bill?
Splitting a bill with other N26 customers is instant, as they’ll receive a MoneyBeam request and can pay you back right away. Friends and family members who don’t bank with N26 will receive a message with your banking details and the amount they owe you, so depending on their bank, it could take a few days for the money to reach your N26 bank account after they’ve made the payment.
Is Split the Bill available to all N26 customers?
Split the Bill is available to N26 customers on all of our plans, which means you can get paid back instantly when you split a bill with other N26 customers.
