A better way to pay? Yes, it’s possible with Google Pay. And starting today, all N26 customers in Switzerland can start using it.

Google Pay is secure, painless, and makes paying feel like magic. It’s a bit like that feeling when everything just works. Cue the notification noise on your phone. Check. And done.

Google Pay seamlessly integrates with your Google account, keeping your payment info secure until you’re ready to pay. It’s easy to set up too. Just download the app, add your card and start paying anywhere it’s accepted.

The Google Pay app also offers a full overview of all your transactions, together with nearby deals and stores. Under the cards tab, it shows all your individual credit, debit, reward, and gift cards. That comes in handy if you like to collect loyalty points—Google Pay will even alert you when you can use them. That’s a great way to get more from your purchases.

Need to pick up some milk from the store? Google Pay works there too. Just hold your Android device to the terminal and confirm. No more fishing through your pockets or around in your bag for your wallet.

How Google Pay keeps your money safe

One of the best features about Google Pay, together with other mobile payment providers, is how secure it is.

In fact, Google Pay is built so that merchants never see your payment information. Instead, all they see is a unique and encrypted token (which is basically just a long number) that is passed on.

Google Pay uses an advanced tokenization process that acts as a stand-in for your card number. This token can’t be used without your permission. Google also doesn’t see the transactions, they just pass them on to the credit card network.

There’s also a lot of inbuilt security features to love. It takes just a few steps to set up a PIN and identify yourself with face authentication or your fingerprint. That makes your card more secure since you’ll be asked to authenticate any transaction you make with Google Pay: whether it’s in the store or online.

And since merchants never see your data, they don’t have to store it for processing. This decreases the chance that your information will be compromised if their security fails.

Pretty neat, huh?

To get started using Google Pay, you can add your card directly in the N26 app. You can also download the Google Pay app itself and add your N26 card manually.
