Security at N26

At N26 we put you in the driver’s seat of your finances, giving you full control with simple features that will keep your account safe and secure.

Here's how we keep your account safe and secure.

Account protection

Your funds are FDIC-insured through our partner bank, Axos Bank®, Member FDIC.

Secure log in

Keep your account secure by logging in using fingerprint or face recognition.

Banking you control

Lock or unlock your card if it's lost, set spending and withdrawal limits, change your PIN number, and enable international spending instantly.

Support you can trust

Have a question about your account? You can reach out at any time through the N26 in-app chat feature.

Instant notifications for peace of mind

With N26, you’ll receive instant notifications on all account activity so you can see what is happening with your money in real-time. No more waiting days for a purchase to process or until the end of a billing period to see an accurate overview of your finances.

Stress-free payments

N26 debit cards are protected by Visa’s Zero Liability Policy*, which means you won't be held responsible for unauthorized charges made with your account or account information.

Protect your account from prying eyes

Discreet mode lets you view your account and manage transactions as normal, while blurring out sensitive data like balance and transaction amounts, making it ideal for when someone might be looking over your shoulder.

How to protect yourself

Lock your devices

We recommend adding a lock code or password to any device you use to access your N26 account. Avoid using the same password for multiple accounts or devices.

Update your software

While it’s easy to delay software updates, it’s important that you do so regularly. Manufacturers frequently issue updates to protect against new safety defects.

Protect your passwords

Never write down or save any passwords, usernames, or PINs on your devices. If your phone is lost or becomes infected with malware, this will increase your risk of falling prey to cybercriminals.

Avoid public Wi-Fi

While public hotspots can be convenient, they’re typically not secure. Consider disconnecting from Wi-Fi and using your phone’s cell service to check your N26 account whenever possible.

*Visa’s Zero Liability Policy covers U.S.-issued cards only and does not apply to certain commercial card transactions or transactions not processed by Visa. You must notify your card issuer immediately of any unauthorized use. For specific restrictions, limitations and other details, please consult your issuer.
