Setting financial goals can feel daunting, and many of us struggle with simply knowing where to start. This is exactly where N26 can help. N26 works to simplify and make banking more personal to allow you to live and bank your way. One way N26 puts banking in your hands is through Spaces. Spaces simplifies saving, allowing you to personalize, track, and achieve your short and long-term goals, with just a few simple steps.

So what, exactly, is Spaces? Simply put, Spaces allows you to create individual goals in your N26 app to allocate money for specific purchases, or experiences – from an upcoming vacation or concert to starting a retirement savings fund. By allocating money to separate objectives, Spaces makes it easier to help you stick to your goals and maintain discipline over your daily spending habits. N26 customers in the U.S. can create up to two Spaces based on individual financial goals and circumstances.

Some examples of common Spaces include saving for a big future event such as a vacation or a significant future purchase such as a new computer or car. Spaces was created to provide convenience to N26 account holders and enable them to stay organized and in control of their financial goals. Furthermore, its clean interface allows for an easy, intuitive user experience, eliminating the common intimidation around setting and maintaining financial goals.

Here are 5 ways to start using N26 Spaces:

1) Set a savings goal

Before you even open the N26 app, you need to set a savings goal. It’s as easy as three steps: decide on a goal, estimate how much you’ll need, and map out how long it will take you to save the money. Let’s say that your goal is a new pair of sunglasses that cost $200. If you save $50 a month, you’ll have enough for your new sunglasses in 4-months.

2) Name your new Space and add an icon

After setting your savings target, customize your Space in order to keep track of your various savings goals. Personalizing your Space is simple, and you can give each Space a descriptive name and unique icon. The icon feature ensures that your Spaces are intuitive, organized, and easy to navigate.

3) Transfer money in and out of spaces

You can instantly transfer money in or out of your Spaces with a single swipe. Transferring money between your main account and Spaces is quick and seamless. If you need to shift money to your main account to cover a bill or unexpected expense, you can do so instantly within the N26 app. Unlike with most accounts, you can transfer your money in and out of your N26 Spaces as many times as you want each month, with no processing period. When we say instant, we mean it.

4) Track your progress

Finally, after setting a savings target, personalizing your Space, and beginning to transfer money, you are able to virtually track progress via the N26 app. With Spaces, you’re able to check your progress at any time in the app and see what percentage you are to achieving your goal. What happens when you meet your goal? You can easily transfer money out of Spaces to your main account and buy your new sunglasses.
