About the opportunity

The internal audit function is an instrument of the management board, being directly subordinated and reporting to it. The Business Audit Manager function shall examine and assess in a risk-oriented and process-independent manner the effectiveness and appropriateness of the risk management system in general and of the internal control system in particular as well as the appropriateness of all activities and processes in general, irrespective of whether or not they have been outsourced.

In this role you will:

  • Support in further developing the independent internal group audit within the N26 Group.
  • Plan and independently carry out audits in the operational business including risk management and internal control system and check their efficiency, effectiveness, reliability and compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulatory provisions.
  • Assist in updating the audit universe and establishing the annual audit plan for Internal Audit.
  • Obtain, evaluate and analyse documentation, reports, flowcharts, etc. for audit units related to business processes.
  • Prepare internal audit reports.
  • Monitor in an appropriate form whether the findings identified during the audit are remedied within the specified timeframe.
  • Perform their work in accordance with established professional and regulatory standards.
  • Act as deputy of the Business Audit Senior Manager if instructed for a certain period of time.

What you need to be successful:

Background & Skills

  • Successfully completed degree in economics or comparable training.
  • Gained at least 4 years of working experience as Internal Auditor in an international company in an regulated environment, preferably in a bank or other financial institution or for an audit company.
  • High degree of process understanding as well as very good knowledge in the areas of online banking and retail products.
  • Adequate insight into Banking laws & requirements, and willing to become acquainted with local specific Banking laws, standard banking requirements as well as banking IT-Systems.
  • Good English and German language skills. Any other European language is a plus.
