About the opportunity
We are seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Cloud Control Team.
The mission of Platform Engineering is to provide trusted, performant, self-service platforms that empower product teams to build “the bank the world loves to use.” Cloud Control’s part of this mission is to develop solutions for cloud infrastructure deployment and management.
As one of the first banks completely hosted in the cloud - our security, resilience and productivity standards require not only the use of a modern technology stack, but the building of teams in line with our principles and in the service of our product teams, the company and our customers.
In this role, you will:
Be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure in order to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of N26 services. Working in this area involves a deep understanding of cloud computing architecture, orchestration and deployment tools and languages, and policy validation approaches, as well as the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
More specifically, you will:

Design, develop, implement and own products and solutions to improve the security, reliability, and scalability of N26 cloud infrastructure and systems in these domains:

AWS multi-account architecture and service provisioning

Authorization, access management and infrastructure security

Continuous improvement, simplification and automation of our infrastructure configuration and deployment

Guide and direct the Cloud Control team technical vision, priorities, and objectives

Mentor and support other team members and also learn from them

Work with Product, customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and build the right products and solutions

Expand and develop your cloud knowledge, skills, and technology expertise
What you need to be successful:
Background and skills:
-
Previous experience in leading a team of engineers
-
Hands-on, production expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
-
Production experience with orchestration languages and services such as Terraform and in container virtualization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience programming in Go and/or Python
-
Previous experience in systems (Linux), networking, Git and CI/CD tools

Monitoring, troubleshooting and incident management

Product mindset and experience collaborating with Product Managers

Good communication skills and a sense of ownership, with a systematic problem-solving approach

Proactiveness, collaboration and eagerness to learn.
