Head of User Research

As a Head of User Research at N26, you will…

  • be responsible for the user research function, including research quality, relevance & impact, operations as well as compliance & ethics.

  • be part of the UX leadership team, reporting to the Director of Product Design and working together with the Heads of UX to continue to grow, maintain and improve the UX and Design function.

  • define a vision for the function and drive it forward in alignment with other leadership members within UX & Product. 

  • create the right environment for proactive strategic research to be done to inform innovation.

  • be the people manager of all 11 user researchers. and grow the function and team further. 

  • Coach all the members of your 10+ team and ensure they have a direction set in terms of goals and expected outcomes.

This is you…

You have a track record in building and managing a high performing UX Research team in a digital product company before, idelally with a mobile focus. You've already drove strategic initiatives in the research function before and can deliver actionable examples to that, which ideally involved multiple researchers in a product company. You are also experienced in scaling and growing research teams and have a successful trackrecord in people management of individual contractors as well as people managers.

You have worked as a user researcher yourself in the past and bring experience in democritising user research , too. You are a great mentor and coach for your team and shine throughout your strong strategic thinking capabilities.

You are a strong communicator, advocate for and socialise actionable insights in a clear and compelling way across the whole organisation and the Product Leadership team.

  • Excellent storytelling skills to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively
  • Build bridges between different disciplines (insights disciplines, ux, product…)
  • Have a vision for a thriving mixed-methods research function & product organisation
  • strong pragmatic problem solving attitude

Nice to have: 

  • Experience in the FinTech domain.
  • Being a customer of a digital bank.
