About the opportunity
We are strengthening our Data Privacy Focus in the Account & Customer Data Team within Banking Operations and are looking for a motivated person to join us. This team is managing GDPR Data Subject Rights customer requests such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objections, and automated decision-making ensuring that requests are handled with care while safeguarding N26 from legal and regulatory risks.
As an Associate, you will bring your deep expertise in data protection topics to the team. You will handle complex cases, act as a point of escalation, and contribute to projects that improve the way we work. You will collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders within the company, and external partners. This role is well-suited for someone who wants to go beyond daily case handling and play an active role in shaping the way the team develops.
In this role, you will:
- Be the main point of contact of GDPR Data Subject Rights processes, handling complex cases independently and serving as a go-to person for escalations.
- Manage end-to-end inquiries, including research, assessment, and decision-making in edge-cases handling .
- Partner with Legal on sensitive or high-impact cases, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to knowledge building by mentoring and training new joiners (both internal and external colleagues).
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain high standards in case handling.
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows and lead improvements to optimize processes.
- Drive initiatives to ensure procedures are efficient, scalable, and compliant.
- Support cross-functional projects with subject matter expertise.
- Work with the Team Lead on audit readiness, project delivery, and managing external stakeholder requests.
- Partner with the Banking Operations support teams to ensure alignment and adoption of best practices.
What you need to be successful:
- 3+ years of experience in banking operations, compliance, legal, or a related field, with strong exposure to data protection topics.
- Strong knowledge of GDPR or similar privacy frameworks, and experience handling complex customer or regulatory queries.
- A university degree in business, finance, law, or a related field.
- Experience collaborating with legal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of contributing to process improvements, projects, and/or quality initiatives.
- Fluent English (written and spoken); German, French, Spanish, or Italian are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Google Workspace, with experience in Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence as an advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to take ownership and deliver independently.
